Ada Kaleh was a island in the Danube that remained an exclave of the Ottoman Empire from 1878 to 1923 (but under occupations since 1913), after the empire lost control of the region. It was inhabited by Turks until 1970, when it was flooded by the Romanian Iron Gates dam. Date unknown
Cetshwayo, King of the Zulu people who famously defeated the British at the battle of Isandlwana, in captivity in Cape Town following his defeat a year later, 1880. Noted for his enormous stature, Cetshwayo was between 6'6 and 6'8 in height.

Jerzy Andziak was a Holocaust survivor and a convicted murderer. He was 14 when he became a slave laborer in 1943, 16 when he was freed in 1945, 20 when he killed a man in a botched burglary in 1948, and 21 when he was executed in 1949. In a plea for clemency, he wrote about what he saw.
